A few weeks ago, I posted a video review of the Denny EZ stand when I received it. I pointed out how one of the posts came apart on me immediately out of the box, which caused me to have to use caution when lifting it. Well, after shooting a wedding with it, I realized…

Just wanted to say thanks for coming over to leave a nice note on the blog….good to hear from you and hope to meet up soon! Were you and your wife in the FQ yesterday shooting a bride and groom? Saw a couple that I thought could have been y’all!
Are you guys going to Partner Con in a couple of weeks?

As many of you know, we’ve been using MCP actions for a long time to help produce vivid images. MCP launched a new action set today that we will definitely be incorporating into our workflow, it’s called “Bag of Tricks”. Check them out at http://mcpactions.com/blog/ We’ve been playing with this set today on a few…

I truly adore these shots!! do you keep these obscure props in the back of your car for these occasions? love it!
No- but I do plan sessions according to the personalities of our clients. Ketelyn and Clay are incorporating the theme “shabby chic” around their wedding. I researched “shabby chic”, then hit a few antique stores to find something that we could incorporate into their engagement shoot
The windows were perfect!
These are fantastic.

And she is even designing one for guys too, I am very excited to see what she comes up with. Kelly Moore (based in Ruston, LA) is one of the most talented people I know, I’m so excited that she has taken the initiative to create something that will be very useful, and chic, for…

Hey Mark –
thanks for taking the time to compare the 2! Makes me happy I made the right choice with the cheetahs.
My 2 cheetah’s arrived last week in time for a wedding and using multiple strobes off-camera at the reception was a breeze to move the lights around. Outdoors on unstable ground is a different matter (centrecolumn is low to the ground), and I found myself having to tighten the knobs quite hard in some instances to stop the columns sliding down with a little weight, but in all I don’t know how I lived without them! Looking fwd to the vid!
Hi, do you find the 8 foot high Cheetah stand to be high enough for most purposes (including off-camera lights at receptions)?
Thanks!
Hi Lisa,
Of course every venue is different, but I don’t see any reason to need to go higher- especially if the light can be bounced. They work just fine for me, as a stationary off camera flash, or as a lightstick held and directed by an assistant.
Hope that helps
Thanks so much!
They have a holiday special right now so I might pick up two
Ordered the Cheetah Stand, as per your recommendation. customer service is excellent. Should get my stand in this week!
Cool- I think you’ll really like it. I love mine.
Well…….they must have not tightened them ALL up because the one that purchased in July 2010 also came apart. They DID replace it for me, but it did not save me from the embarrassment of having the MOTB pick up my stand and have it fall apart in her hand. Wish I would have found your review earlier!
