We’re kicking off a new category this weekend. In search of inspiration and education, I spend time daily sifting through different websites and blogs that I subscribe to via Google Reader. The better informed we are, the better we can inform our clients- right? So with that in mind, each weekend we will start sharing some of our favorite wedding, lifestyle, and photography related posts from the previous week. Enjoy!
Wedding Inspiration
1. Femininity without being girly – A fashionable way to use the pink and black color scheme. Presented by a great new inspirational blog, The Wedding Shoebox .
2. A bicycle built for two – I’ve always wanted to shoot a session with a Tandem Bike. Although I’ve always imagined using one in an engagement session, the couple featured in this Southern Weddings article incorporated one into their wedding, love it!
3. 8 Steps to getting fit for your Wedding Day presented by Bride Pop. If only I were a bride, I’d incorporate these tips. But I’m not a bride- so pass the Fried Shrimp PoBoy!
4. The Wedding Venue Cost Calculator - Handy tool for brides from Blue Orchid Designs
5. GracyLu Originals Susan, one of our brides wore a fabulous head piece at her engagement session this week which she picked up from GracyLu. Check them out!
Lifestyle Inspiration
After waiting over 30 years for this, I simply must dedicate this section to the only thing that us Louisianians are thinking about this week- Who Dat!
1.
2.
I love watching Gumbo (the mascot) fall to the ground when he runs into Reggie Bush. What a call by Jim Henderson, “Pigs have flown, Hell has frozen over. The Saints are going to the Super Bowl!”
Photography and Business Inspiration
1. Pricing. Every new photographer struggles with pricing. Lighting-Essentials featured an great article addressing the issue this week. If you are a professional photographer who produces a quality product- this is a must read. If you are a new photographer just learning your camera, and a friend has offered to pay you for pictures, this is a must read.
2. Another strong case for extraordinary customer service. Magazine ads, TV Spots, Billboards, and Radio ads may be good, but nothing beats extraordinary customer service when it comes to marketing.
We have a bridal in New Orleans this weekend, then off to Georgia next week for a wedding. Have a great weekend everyone!
