Congrats to Laken and Robbie! They were married in a beautiful ceremony at Oak Crest Mansion in Pass Christian, MS this past weekend. I loved this shot captured at sunset, such a beautiful location.

NOLA Photo School- what an amazing time!

I want to thank everyone who came out to our first NOLA Photo School to learn from me and my two good friends, Jason Cohen and Beebe Tran. We had an amazing turnout of hungry photographers who are eager to learn and grow their businesses.

I also want to thank my good friends (and amazing photographers) Allison and Adam Hudson (from www.adamhudsonphoto.com in Jackson, MS) for coming down to model for us. It was fun to turn the cameras on them for a change! Here is a quick teaser, more coming soon!

I’m very excited to announce an upcoming workshop with myself and two amazing photographers in one of America’s greatest cities, New Orleans!

Beebe Tran and his lovely wife operate Studio Tran, which is by far the leading wedding photography studio in New Orleans, and for good reason. Their clients absolutely rave about them. Their work is phenomenal. To top it off, they are both genuinely great people inside and out. Find out how he manages to book up to 8 weddings a weekend, and maintain a workflow that allows for a healthy family life. Beebe spoke at our last mentoring session in Baton Rouge, inspiring everyone who attended.

Jason Cohen is no stranger to our blog. As many of you know, he and I are great friends. I can honestly say that he is one of the smartest people I know when it comes to networking and marketing. His images have a unique quality that sets him apart from everyone. He has traveled the world doing what he loves- documenting weddings and people. He is sure to inspire, you don’t want to miss it.

I spent most of last weekend mentoring 5 up and coming photographers from around Louisiana. We had classtime in the wine cellar of Chimes in Baton Rouge on Thursday- then shot some images that night. Tina and Wes got a head start on the wedding (which was Saturday). They got dressed up in their wedding attire so that we could capture some images before the wedding. They were so much fun to work with- wedding images coming soon! Here is one from Thursday night. This was taken right outside Chimes, with the glow of streetlights in the distance. (Canon 5D Mark II, 135 2.0, small video light)

Kristen and Brad: Bridal prep at the Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans

Kristen and her ladies got ready at the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans (the hotel just opened after being shut down since Katrina). Kristen and Brad gave us permission to use their wedding as a mentoring opportunity for 3 up and coming very talented photographers. Many of the images you will see from Kristen and Brad’s wedding were shot by them. Be sure to check out their work as well if you are looking for a photographer:

A few weeks ago, I hosted a mentoring session in New Orleans with three up and coming photographers. One of my amazing couples volunteered to come model for us during the workshop- meet Julie and Jeremy! I can’t wait for their wedding next May- it’s going to be stellar.
